Meet Our Owner and Founder Ivan Max Harris
Before starting IMH Quality Consulting, Ivan Max Harris had years of quality and continuous improvement experience. He has held the positions such as Plant Manager and Engineering & Maintenance Superintendent in the aluminum manufacturing and reclamation industry; Chief Executive Officer in a bio-based engineering firm commercializing a new thermosetting polymer; Chief Operating Officer in an R&D firm developing multiple solid fuels to replace high-sulfur coal.
Ivan pivoted to solely quality management after meeting Dr. Edwards Deming. Ivan dedicated his life to practical problem-solving using the Deming PDCA cycle. This career shift led him to work as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt for the Navy Program Executive Office, Business Process Engineering Architect for the Secretary of the Army, Office of Business Transformation, Lean integration of primary component integration and quality management at Boeing; Operational Excellence project manager at General Motors, and North America Continuous Improvement Sr. Manager for ECOBAT.
Years of Experience
As a young industrial engineer, his first experience leading a multi-departmental team to solve a huge customer complaint resulted in an increase of first pass yield up to 98% and throughput (capacity) by 25% was life-changing.
Ivan’s greatest joy is seeing someone succeed. This led his career path to quality engineering and eventually created his own problem-solving technique - coined "Extreme Problem Solving". Training and coaching have become his method of seeing others succeed.
The bigger the problem, the more on-topic training he can share. Leading cross-functional teams to find a true root cause instills new skill sets and brings team visibility to leadership.
The look of joy from new team member’s faces after participating on their first big Lean event that solved an impossible company problem is priceless. It's rewarding to see leadership recognize and appreciate the efforts of all team members.
